The Department of the Persian Language hosted the Assistant Professor Zahra Parsapour from the Research Institute of Humanities and Cultural Studies in Tehran to deliver lectures on the Persian language and literature.<\/span><\/p>\n

lecturing began on Sunday, February 11, 2024, in the presence of the department\u2019s presidency and teaching staff. The lectures, given to the students of the third stage and fourth stage, handled the subjects of composition and prose respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

The visiting professor gave a lecture on modern methods in teaching the Persian language and literature. Some recommendations and advice given to students were on the academic approaches to deal the subjects of language, emphasizing the curriculum.<\/span><\/p>\n

The visiting professor touched on the principles of composition writing for the third stage and the basic standards for drafting sequential texts to write a proper composition. Moreover, the professor shed lights on understanding the subject casting it in the proper composition model; i.e., beginning, body and conclusion with well-written paragraphs, sentences and punctuation marks.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, Prof. Zahra tackled the subject of prose and its importance. She argued that in order to teach prose, we first need motivation, which is initiated according to the name of the lesson, its topic, and the words that students already know. A general picture of the lesson for should be given to students with a rapid \u00a0initial reading, which makes students familiarize with the text by reading it like a newspaper.<\/span><\/p>\n

The head of the department, Professor Dr. Nahla Daoud Salman, said: \u201cThe department had previously called for inviting external specialized professors to teach students since new creative ideas may be obtained which would contribute to supporting the study in the department.<\/span><\/p>\n

The visiting professor was received by the Dean of the College of Languages, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Adnan Mashwash, accompanied by the teaching staff in the department, Professor Dr. Khairiya Damak Qasim and Professor Dr. Anwar Abbas Majeed, the department coordinator who helped in providing \u00a0the necessary facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through its support of academic and cultural activities, the College of Languages emphasizes the importance of learning languages and contributes to achieving sustainable development goals:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 Goal 4: Quality Education \u2013 Students receive quality education in the Persian language and culture, which will help students to succeed in their studies and careers.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 Goal 10: Reduce Inequality \u2013 Students from different parts of Iraq will have the opportunity to learn about the language and culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which will help to reduce inequality in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n
