{"id":2348,"date":"2025-04-08T06:08:03","date_gmt":"2025-04-08T06:08:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.colang.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=2348"},"modified":"2025-04-08T06:11:32","modified_gmt":"2025-04-08T06:11:32","slug":"field-visit-the-syriac-language-department-to-the-iraqi-manuscript-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.colang.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=2348","title":{"rendered":"field visit the Syriac Language Department to the Iraqi Manuscript House"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;\"><strong>field visit the Syriac Language Department to the Iraqi Manuscript House<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;\">As part of enhancing cultural and scientific knowledge, the Syriac Language Department organized a field visit to the Iraqi Manuscript House.<\/span><\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;\">This cultural institution, founded in 1940, is the most important and largest manuscript house in Iraq and the Arab world, and one of the most prominent in the world.<\/span><\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;\">It contains more than 44,000 manuscript volumes, in addition to a collection of paintings, calligraphic pieces, and decorations.<\/span><\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;\">The visiting delegation was headed by the Head of the Syriac Language Department, Prof. Dr. Mu&#8217;ayyad Hussein Manshid, and was accompanied by a group of faculty members from the department, along with graduate students.<\/span><\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;\">They were received by several members of the House&#8217;s administrative body, who briefed the attendees on the House&#8217;s holdings and the history of its manuscripts.<\/span><\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;\">The delegation was also briefed on the valuable manuscripts and their restoration methods using the latest restoration and digital archiving technologies. <\/span><\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;\">The concerned parties affirmed the House&#8217;s willingness to provide support and cooperation with researchers to study the manuscripts that represent the country&#8217;s national heritage.\u00a0 A visit to the Iraqi Manuscripts House serves various purposes, ranging from scientific research to cultural exploration. From a scientific perspective, the house is a treasure trove for researchers in various fields.
