{"id":4153,"date":"2026-10-27T09:26:37","date_gmt":"2026-10-27T09:26:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.colang.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=4153"},"modified":"2026-10-27T09:26:37","modified_gmt":"2026-10-27T09:26:37","slug":"masters-thesis-at-the-college-of-languages-investigates-verbal-communication-among-american-and-iraqi-children-with-down-syndrome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.colang.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=4153","title":{"rendered":"Master\u2019s Thesis at the College of Languages Investigates Verbal Communication among American and Iraqi Children with Down Syndrome"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 17px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;\"><strong>Master\u2019s Thesis at the College of Languages Investigates Verbal Communication among American and Iraqi Children with Down Syndrome<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;\">The Department of English at the College of Languages, University of Baghdad, discussed the master&#8217;s thesis entitled <em>\u201cA Cognitive-Pragmatic Analysis of Verbal Communication among American and Iraqi Children with Down Syndrome\u201d<\/em> submitted by <strong>Hardan Mohammed Mousa<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;\">The thesis aimed to analyze verbal communication among children with Down syndrome from a cognitive-pragmatic perspective by comparing two groups of children, one American and the other Iraqi, aged between eight and twelve years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #000000;\">The findings revealed that American children outperformed their Iraqi counterparts in grammar, semantics, cohesion, contextual language use, and communication initiation.
