The Deanship of the College of Languages welcomes the honorable visitors to this page, which shows the services provided to the community and students. The Deanship is interested in offering the best services such as gyms, green spaces, libraries, student club, and consulting office services. Join us and benefit from the rare specialties of foreign languages that contribute to achieving your academic success at various levels of undergraduate and postgraduate studies and in morning and evening studies.
Consulting office
Through the Consulting Office for Foreign Languages and Translation, the College of Languages provides its services to the community as written and simultaneous translation work in various specialties from Arabic to other languages (English – French – German – Russian – Spanish – Italian – Turkish – Persian – Kurdish – Hebrew – Syriac) and vice versa.
The office employs professors from the departments of the college itself, who hold PhD and master’s degrees, with high efficiency and experience in all types of translations (legal – scientific – commercial contracts – financial – personal status) and others.
Providing general linguistic consultations in European and Eastern languages, including holding specialised courses for TOEFL applicants, as well as courses in written and simultaneous translation for those interested from the university staff and from outside the university. This is done in prior coordination with the office.
Carrying out simultaneous translation work at scientific and international conferences, seminars, press conferences, or foreign delegations visiting the country in all the languages mentioned above.
Certifying the translations issued by the Consulting Office or received from legally authorized translation offices. The seal of the office is accredited by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Contracting with various state ministries regarding the translation of draft contracts and agreements (international, commercial, security, lawsuits, legal, etc.).
Rehabilitation and Employment Unit
This unit is concerned with developing students’ abilities and skills within their specializations to enable them to compete for jobs after graduation by offering training and rehabilitation programs for students during their studies.


Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit
The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit provides the best services and the best balanced and correct methods that aim to help students psychologically, scientifically, and socially. It also assists them in discovering their abilities, potentials, and skills to use them properly to reach their goals and achieve them consistently with these capabilities.


Continuing Education Unit
The Continuing Education Unit is one of the oldest units in the College of Languages. It was opened after the establishment of the College of Languages in 1987. It provides its services to students and graduates:
– Holding courses in all languages for periods ranging from one week to three months, depending on the levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced).
– Holding proficiency courses (English and computer) for students applying for postgraduate studies.


Website Unit
The Website Unit provides its services to students by activating and maintaining the official email, publishing class schedules and final exams, announcing annual endeavor grades and exam results, in addition to publishing the academic calendar and all the college’s scientific and cultural activities.
Student Activities Division
The Student Activities Division provides services to students through theoretical and practical lectures on artistic, sports, and scouting activities. It also provides them with all the requirements to support sports and artistic activities through the sports field to practice various sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, and tennis. In addition to participating in university sports competitions, the Deanship of the College of Languages also sponsors students’ talents and cultivates them by holding seminars, courses, festivals, and photo exhibitions during the cultural days of the scientific departments.


Student Dining Hall
Student Dining Hall provides its services to students through various activities of hot and cold foods and drinks and seating areas in a spacious air-conditioned hall under the direct supervision of the College Deanship by forming committees specialized in monitoring cleanliness and the level of services provided, in cooperation with the University Health Center in the Complex of Bab Al-Muadham Colleges.


Prayer Room
The College Deanship has renovated prayer rooms for men and women to meet the needs of male and female students.


Green Areas
The College of Languages includes green areas, beautiful gardens, and a central hall equipped to host student activities.


Language Laboratories
The College of Languages offers audio laboratories, which are the scientific tools for conveying correct pronunciation to the student, especially while teaching computer science alongside reading, pronunciation, comprehension, and conversation lessons. The greatest achievement was obtaining a modern audio laboratory from South Korea in 2010, which made Iraq one of the first countries in the world to use it, while it was used in the European Union in Germany in 2011. The laboratory is an electronic university professor with scientific curricula for only three languages: English, French, and Spanish. It also includes everything related to language pronunciation in addition to civilization and literature for the aforementioned languages.


Special Needs Services
The College of Languages provides its services to students with special needs by providing psychological and moral support by allocating a special employee who follows up on their needs in a way that enables them to complete university tasks, in addition to providing halls close to the department’s entrance and a special parking lot in front of the main entrance to the college.
