The Languages Festival: A Celebration of Sports, Culture, and Art in Vibrant Colours
On Thursday, April 17, 2025, the Psychological Counselling and Educational Guidance Unit, in collaboration with the Student Activities Division at the College of Languages, organised a comprehensive festival that blended sports, culture, and the arts into one dynamic celebration. The festival kicked off with a spirited football match featuring students from the Department of Spanish Language. The Cultural and Artistic Activities Unit also contributed a remarkable artistic segment titled “Languages Symposium—Open-Air Painting”, alongside an exhibition of student artwork that reflected their talents in visual expression. The showcased paintings spanned styles from realism to abstraction, illustrating the diversity of artistic visions and their dialogue with the academic environment.
To promote environmental awareness, a lecture was held on environmental poster design and the art of Arabic calligraphy, under the theme “A Clean Environment: The Secret to Life’s Sustainability.” This event, organised in collaboration with students from the academic departments, highlighted the role of creative design in conveying impactful environmental messages and explored how Arabic calligraphy aesthetically embodies ecological values.
With its unique blend of activities, the festival succeeded in reinforcing the concept of holistic education—one that nurtures diverse skills and encourages students to discover their identities and express their potential through a language that transcends textbooks and curricula. Bringing together sports, translation, visual arts, and ecological consciousness, the festival stood as a vivid testament to the synergy of knowledge and student talent.
