Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs Participates in a Regional Workshop on Mediation Competencies in Cyprus
Prof. Dr. Dhikra Mutaib Hussein, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies at the College of Languages, University of Baghdad, participated in the regional specialized workshop entitled “Competencies in Mediation – II.”
The workshop was organized by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), Middle East Regional Office, in cooperation with the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Professional Center for Mediation (CPM) at Saint Joseph University in Beirut. The event was held in Nicosia, Cyprus.
The workshop brought together academics from eight countries, including Iraq, and focused on developing mediation and conflict-management skills, particularly leadership, dialogue facilitation, active and empathetic listening, and strategic negotiation. It also included practical applications designed to enhance participants’ ability to identify the underlying interests of disputing parties and facilitate consensus-based solutions.
