Students at the College of Languages Complete Their Participation in the Turkish Language and Culture Training Program in Ankara
Students from the Department of Turkish Language at the College of Languages, University of Baghdad, have concluded their participation in the summer training program for teaching Turkish language and culture, organized by the Yunus Emre Institute in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
The program hosted 224 students from 50 countries around the world, distributed across Turkish‑language teaching centers in several Turkish universities, including Ankara University and Hacı Bayram Veli University. Over the course of nearly a month, students studied the Turkish language and explored Turkish culture, arts, customs, and traditions through a wide range of cultural activities and programs. From the Department of Turkish Language at the College of Languages – University of Baghdad, Alaa Riyadh Othman Bakr and Zain Al‑Abidin Ali Hussein participated in the program, which was held from July 6 to July 31, 2026. The program concluded with a recreational and touristic week featuring various cultural and sightseeing activities. Participating students received B1‑level certificates in the Turkish language after successfully passing the language examinations.
This participation reflects the commitment of the College of Languages – University of Baghdad to supporting its students and providing opportunities to develop their linguistic and cultural skills, while enhancing their engagement with global cultures and academic environments. It also highlights the efforts of the Head of the Turkish Language Department, Asst. Prof. Alaa Falah, whose continuous communication with the Turkish side played a major role in securing these training opportunities.
