Turkish Language college members participate in international conferences in Turkey
A group of college members from the Department of Turkish Language at the College of Languages, University of Baghdad, participated in several international academic activities in Turkey.
Lecturers Amer Hathef Ali and Assistant Lecturer Ali Raji contribute to the 10th International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences held in Istanbul, Turkey, from August 8 to 10, 2025. The conference was held under the theme Islamic Discourses in the Mathnawis of Sheikh Galib / The Use of Reflexive Words in the Theatrical Work “The King’s Feeling of Cold” by Sabahattin Kudret Aksal.
Lecturer Amer Hathef Ali presented a paper titled The Use of Reflexive Words in the Theatrical Work “The King’s Feeling of Cold” by Sabahattin Kudret Aksal, which explored themes of societal development, empowering future generations, sustainable energy, and literary and scientific criticism, all contributing to the conference’s intellectual discourse.
Assistant Lecturer Ali Raji Ali presented a paper titled Islamic Discourses in the Mathnawis of Sheikh Galib, analyzing his poetic texts, particularly Hüsn ü Aşk and The Island of Mathnawi to uncover his use of symbolism, metaphors, and rhetorical techniques in presenting Islamic concepts derived from the Qur’an, Hadith, and Sufi thought. The study also examined the influence of Mevlevi affiliation on shaping his spiritual and aesthetic vision and its relation to the prevailing religious discourse of his era.
Assistant Professor Dr. Hazem Mohammed Hussein also participated with a joint research paper co-authored with Dr. Ali Hussein Hassan titled (The Concept of Inability in the Poetry of Ahmed Midhat Diranaz), presented at the 12th International Conference on Humanities and Educational Sciences, organized by Istanbul Gedik University in collaboration with the International Association for Academic Education and Research and Remar Academy, Turkey, from September 15–17, 2025.
These conferences aimed to present new perspectives on traditional and contemporary topics in the fields of humanities and education, highlighting methodological developments in the 20th and 21st centuries.
