Launch of Russian Language Week at the College of Languages with International Participation
The Dean of the College of Languages, Prof. Dr Ali Adnan Mashoush, inaugurated the activities of Russian Language Week, which included a delegation from the Chechen State Pedagogical University, as well as faculty members, students from the Russian Language Department, and college staff. In his opening remarks, the Dean stated that Russian Language Week represents a unique opportunity to experience the richness and diversity of one of the world’s most expressive and sophisticated languages. Tamara Andreyeva, Assistant to the President of the Chechen State Pedagogical University, also spoke about Russian Language Week and their second visit to the University of Baghdad this year. She outlined the university’s programs and plans regarding the Russian language, including offering training courses for students of the Russian Language Department at Chechen State University, as well as the possibility of hosting students from the University of Baghdad for training in the field of Arabic language. On this occasion, the Head of the Russian Language Department, Prof. Dr. Najwa Fouad Ali, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of maintaining continuous communication with the Russian side and activating academic and cultural agreements in ways that strengthen the status and significance of the Russian language at the University of Baghdad.
