The College of Languages Celebrates World Arabic Language Day Under the Slogan: “Our Dad… the Memory of a Nation and the Voice of Identity”

The Arabic Language Integrity Unit held its annual ceremony on the occasion of World Arabic Language Day, an event celebrated each year to honour the pivotal role of the Arabic language in shaping culture and human identity.

The ceremony opened with verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the national anthem and the recitation of Surah Al‑Fatiha in memory of the martyrs.
Afterward, Asst. Prof. Ruqayya Iyad, Head of the Arabic Language Integrity Unit, delivered a speech highlighting the deep-rooted significance of the Arabic language and the importance of preserving it as a cornerstone of cultural and historical identity.

The event also featured a theatrical performance by a group of students titled “Usoor” (Eras), which portrayed the stages of the language’s development and its role in overcoming challenges throughout history. The program included additional presentations celebrating the richness, beauty, and profound influence of the Arabic language on culture, literature, and thought.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of scholarly papers discussing the latest research in linguistics and philosophy, adding a distinguished academic and cultural dimension to the even.
