The College of Languages Celebrates Its 62nd Anniversary and Inaugurates the Chinese Language Department
The College of Languages at the University of Baghdad celebrated its 62nd anniversary with a grand ceremony that featured a strategic milestone: the inauguration of the Chinese Language Department, which is set to become an academic pillar strengthening cultural and scholarly cooperation between Iraq and China. The opening ceremony was attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Cui Wei; the Assistant President of the University of Baghdad for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah; and the Dean of the College of Languages, Prof. Dr. Ali Adnan Mashoush, along with a distinguished group of prominent academic and scientific figures.
In his speech, the Dean of the College of Languages reflected on the rich academic and cultural journey the college has undertaken since its establishment, highlighting its significant contributions in supplying academic and cultural institutions with highly qualified specialists in various languages. The Assistant President of the University of Baghdad for Scientific Affairs also delivered remarks, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the founding, building, and development of the College of Languages, praising its continuous academic and cultural role. For his part, the Chinese Ambassador expressed his pleasure in visiting the University of Baghdad, an institution with a long and esteemed history, and extended his congratulations on the anniversary of the College of Languages.
