The College of Languages Honors Its Top Students for the Academic Year 2024–2025
The College of Languages held a ceremony to honor the top-performing students for the academic year 2024–2025, attended by the University’s Acting Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Raghad Abdul Razaq Mohammed, along with faculty members, staff, and students.
The ceremony began with a speech by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ali Adnan Mashoush, who expressed his pride in the students’ academic excellence, noting that their achievements serve as motivation for all and reflect the effort they invested to reach distinguished ranks. He highlighted that the College offers rare language specializations—including Chinese, Hebrew, Syriac, German, Spanish, Russian, and Italian—and works to develop integrated pathways that build students’ academic and professional competencies in language, literature, and translation, while providing a supportive university environment that fosters creativity, initiative, and community service.
Prof. Dr. Raghad Abdul Razaq Mohammed emphasized that the occasion is not merely a recognition of high grades, but a celebration of determination and excellence. He noted that the College, as a space for cultural exchange and global engagement, nurtures a distinguished group of students who demonstrate that language is awareness and responsibility. He added that this recognition marks the beginning of a greater journey of contribution, with graduates representing Iraq honorably in academic and cultural arenas. He reaffirmed the University’s continued support for initiatives that promote creativity and investment in human potential.
A total of 126 outstanding students from all departments—morning and evening studies—were honored, representing the top three students in each academic stage. The College of Languages is distinguished as the only college that has honored its top students annually since 2023.
