Under the guidance of Assistant Professor Dr. Rasha Abdulmunem Azeez, a student named Fedaa Tareq Qassim discussed a master's thesis in the English Language Department entitled "The Female Economic Independence: A Study of Materialist Feminism during War in Selected Plays by Bertolt Brecht, Paula Vogel, and Lynn Nottage." The thesis attempted to establish a new standard of parity between men and women by demonstrating that women are capable of becoming financially independent, which equalizes them with men. As part of the research, three plays were compared to showcase the heroines' unwavering resolve to support themselves and secure their financial independence even during war conditions. This research holds significance as it is the first thesis in the discipline of English literature after a hiatus of 14 years.
