A Faculty Member from the College of Languages Receives the Excellence and Creativity Medal at the 10th IGEHAR Conference in Turkey 

As part of the international participation of faculty members from the College of Languages, Lecturer Redha Thamer Baqir from the French Language Department took part in the 10th IGEHAR Conference on Humanities and Educational Sciences, held on January 14–16, 2025, in Istanbul. The conference featured participation from various academic institutions across the Arab world. 

The conference covered multiple humanitarian, educational, and pedagogical topics. Lecturer Redha Thamer Baqir presented a research paper titled “Freedom and Absurdity in Jean-Paul Sartre’s Short Story Collection (The Wall): An Analytical Study.” The paper explores key aspects of existentialist and absurdist philosophy in the 20th century through Sartre’s work (The Wall), examining the challenge of fate against human freedom, inviting readers to reflect on the relationship between commitment and absurdity in human life during the 20th century, as well as to contemplate the human condition in that era.
