The College of Languages Hosts a Scientific Symposium Discussing the Role of Digital Culture in Learning the Persian Language
The Department of Persian Language at the College of Languages organized a scientific symposium titled “The Persian Language and the Digital Culture: Between Reality and Aspiration,” with the participation of a distinguished group of professors: Prof. Dr. Raheem Mazher Jabr Al-Atabi, Prof. Dr. Khairiya Damaq Qasim, Asst. Prof. Dr. Zahra Parsapour (visiting professor in the Department of Persian Language), Lecturer Hassan Ali Safar, and Assistant Lecturer Majid Jasib Malik.
The symposium aimed to shed light on the concept of digital culture, its role in the digital transformation process, and the impact of digital technologies on various aspects of daily life—particularly in the field of language education. It also discussed phenomena related to the spread of digital culture and its effect on the Persian language.
The symposium included several key topics. The first addressed “The Digital Tools and their Role in Language Education.” The second topic focused on “The Main Approaches in Machine Translation and Current Challenges.” The final topic explored “The Impact of Digital Culture on the Persian Language.”
At the end of the symposium, the researchers recommended equipping classrooms with smart boards and incorporating them into teaching to make educational content more interactive and engaging. They also emphasized the importance of developing educational materials using artificial intelligence, particularly in conversation and translation lessons. Additionally, the researchers stressed the need to add a course to the students’ curriculum that aligns with current times—explaining the mechanisms for implementing digital culture, its challenges, and its impact on the job market in line with the ministry’s directives in this leading technical and scientific field.
