The Department of Italian Language Participates in an International Conference at Hankuk University in Korea
The Department of Italian Language participated in the international conference organized by Hankuk University of Foreign Studies entitled “Among Europe, Asia, and America: New Challenges and Collaborations.” The department participated as part of a panel discussion titled “Italian Studies in the East: A Roundtable Discussion.” The department was represented in the session by Dr. Baha Najm Mahmoud, Head of the Department, and Dr. Hind Sabbar Mohammed, as a representative of the teaching faculty. The Korean side was represented by Dr. Moonjung Park, Head of the Department of Italian Studies at Hankuk University, and Dr. Julia Elia, who delivered an Italian lecturer specialized in teaching Italian as a foreign language.
This invitation came as a result of the distinguished performance of the Department of Italian Language at the University of Baghdad in the field of teaching Italian language to non-native speakers, particularly in the East. The Head of the Korean department praised this fruitful collaboration, which paves the way for broader academic relations in the future. Both sides also agreed to enhance cooperation through upcoming meetings to exchange views and experiences regarding modern teaching methods, which the Iraqi department has begun implementing within the new curriculum approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, with direct support from the Dean of the College of Languages.
This participation is considered an extension of the department’s efforts to expand the scope of international cooperation and enhance the exchange of academic expertise in a way that supports the development of the educational process and improves the level of its students.
