Master’s thesis explores the semantic implications of conditional tools in the Qur’an
On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the Department of Spanish Language at the College of Languages, University of Baghdad, held a discussion for the master’s thesis entitled (Semantic Analysis of Conditional Tools and the Differences Between Language and Context from Arabic to Spanish: Selected Qur’anic Verses as a Model) by graduate student Hussein Fayyadh Abd Jassim.
The thesis aims to analyze and compare conditional tools and their translation in Qur’anic verses, focusing on contextual differences, especially in the use of present tense and mental constructs, which can alter the intended meaning. The study emphasizes that such semantic shifts require high precision and competence from the translator to accurately convey the source text into the target language. The committee recommended the researcher to consider the feedback provided during the discussion.
