A delegation from the French Embassy discussed with the Faculty of Languages ​​prospects for cultural cooperation and the opening of the French Corner

The dean of the College of Languages at the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Ali Adnan Mashoush, received Mr Marc-Alexandre Seriois, the Cultural and Educational Attaché at the French Embassy in Baghdad, during a visit aimed at strengthening academic and cultural cooperation between both sides.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr Thaka Mutib Hussein, and the head of the French Language Department, Professor Dr Sidad Anwar Mohammed. During the meeting, the two parties discussed prospects for collaboration.

The Dean of the College of Languages affirmed the college’s readiness to make the French Corner a vital platform for organising cultural events, language exhibitions, and discussion panels featuring French specialists to benefit the department’s students. Mr. Marc, on the other hand, expressed the French Embassy’s commitment to completing the requirements for launching the French Corner within the college. He highlighted the embassy’s support through the provision of modern curricula, books, and technical equipment that contribute to the development of the French Language Department. As a conclusion of the visit, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing joint efforts that serve students, enhance academic and cultural benefits, and reinforce the role of the French Language Department as a bridge for cultural exchange between the University of Baghdad and France.
