In cooperation with the University of Nishapur, the Department of the Persian Language at the College of Languages-University of Baghdad held a debate session and lecture entitled (Translating Names from Arabic to Persian and Vice Versa: Problems and Solutions).
The session was held today, Wednesday, the 3rd of January 2024, in which Dr. Hussein Mohammadian, Assistant Professor in the Department of the Persian Language gave a presentation at the College of Arts and Humanities, University of Nishapur. He presented a lecture addressing the scientific aspects of the topic.
The session moderated by Professor Dr. Rahim Mezhir Al-Atabi, Chairman of the Cultural Committee included an introduction to the noun, its different meanings, study of the Arabization of foreign languages in Arabic, methods of choosing vocabulary in Arabic and Persian. It also includes common nouns in the two languages, the difficulty of translating nouns attached to the dual, and translating the described noun, adjective, and genitive. Furthermore, it pointed out the names that do not need translation and the most correct way to present them.
