Arabic Language Unit at the College of Languages at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific symposium entitled (The Language of the Qur’an, Linguistic, Critical, and Rhetorical Studies) on Monday, 18/3, in the presence of a number of college professors and students.
The symposium aimed to present and discuss the opinions of scholars about the language of the Qur’an from several linguistic, critical, and rhetorical aspects.
The symposium included various topics for professors of the Arabic Language Unit, such as the significance of the method of repetition in the Holy Qur’an and its effect on the recipient, verbal evidence according to interpreters, inference by action in the Qur’anic text, and the impact of the Qur’an on the soul. It also included the Holy Qur’an and its impact on the emergence of rhetoric, as well as the impact of the Holy Qur’an on Russian poets. Finally, it discussed the language of the Holy Qur’an in describing the beauty of nature.
One of the most important recommendations that the symposium arrived at was the urge to hold courses to draw attention to the aesthetic aspects and creativity of the language of the Qur’an, as well as to hold courses specialized in introducing the most important scholars who devoted their lives to the language of the Qur’an.
