The Popular Mobilization Forces (Al-Hashd) / Directorate of Public Information, in cooperation with the College of Languages at the University of Baghdad  organized the “Mawaidhamm” festival on the occasion of International Jerusalem Day. The festival started with a verse from the Holy Quran, a reading of Surat Al-Fatihah as a sign of mercy for the martyrs of Iraq and Palestine, the national anthem, poetry, and a theatrical performance to celebrate this important anniversary. Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Al-Nouri, Assistant Director General of the Anti-Terrorism Directorate delivered a speech on this occasion, greeting the patience of the Palestinian people against this attack.
Dr. Ali Adnan Mashosh, Dean of the College of Languages, mentioned in his speech that he delivered on this occasion that we must all stand by our Palestinian brothers in everything they are subjected to. The poet, Muhammad Al-Aajibi, delivered an enthusiastic poem on this occasion. This day is considered the day on which humanity witnesses one of the most horrific crimes of genocide in history.
The celebration was embodied in the words and poems of the participants. The profound human tragedy that befell Palestine, especially in Gaza, is an unfortunate and sad case and a clear example of the historical violation of the rights of the resistant Palestinian people. The violations that the Zionist entity is committing are clear to everyone, and this celebration is a part of a series of cooperation initiatives between the University of Baghdad and its institutions.
