College of Languages Organizes the Eastern and Western Dishes Festival
As a bridge for cultural communication between the countries of the world.
The Deanship of the College of Languages - Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the academic departments, organized the Eastern and Western Dishes Festival on Sunday, February 9, 2025, which was held in the college gardens.
The festival was opened by the Dean of the College of Languages, Professor Dr. Ali Adnan Muashwash, in the presence of the heads of academic departments, and a group of professors, employees and students of the college.
The aim of the festival is to show the cultures of the peoples whose languages are studied in the college departments. Food is an essential element of culture, a symbol of heritage and an indicator of the identity of those peoples.
The national dishes of each country were presented, as they are the cooking customs that show the cultural blending between those countries and Iraq, which is considered part of the tourism and cultural promotion. The festival showed the vital role of women in different cultures.
For their part, the college students expressed their happiness in holding activities that enhance communication and learning about an important part of the cultures of the peoples, thanking the Deanship of the College of Languages for its support in organizing various academic and cultural activities.
