Professors of College of Languages Support Strengthening Iraqi-Russian Relations
In a move that reflects the vital role of the College of Languages at the University of Baghdad, a group of professors from the Russian Language Department (Prof. Dr. Munther Mulla Kadhim, Assistant Professor Dr. Walid Latif Abdullah, and Eng. Muhammad Farih Kabish) participated in the meetings of the Expert Committee for Preparing the Protocol for Economic, Commercial, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation between the Republic of Iraq and the Russian Federation.
The committee’s work lasted for five days, including two days via open-circuit television and three days of face-to-face meetings. These meetings resulted in the signing of four memoranda of understanding, in addition to the basic protocol between ministries and government institutions between the two countries, which was signed on behalf of the Iraqi side by His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Professor Fuad Hussein, and on behalf of the Russian side by His Excellency Russian Minister of Energy Sergei Tsvetaev. The professors of the Russian Language Department played a prominent role in preparing and translating the documents related to the cooperation protocol, which highlights the importance of the College of Languages as a leading government institution in strengthening partnerships with ministries and government institutions, and reflects its competence in providing the necessary expertise from translators for this fruitful cooperation.
