College of Languages Achieves Academic Milestone by Entering QS World Rankings 2025
The College of Languages at the University of Baghdad has achieved a significant academic milestone by entering the QS World University Rankings by Subject for 2025 in the field of languages. This accomplishment reflects the college’s scientific and research excellence, as well as the dedication of its faculty members. It highlights their efforts in curriculum development and enhancing research productivity.
The QS World University Rankings is one of the most prestigious international university ranking systems. It relies on key indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations, the H-index, and international research collaboration. The ranking evaluates the performance of institutions across 55 academic disciplines, categorized into five main areas: Humanities and Social Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Life Sciences, and Natural Sciences.
This achievement strengthens the position of the College of Languages and affirms its commitment to international academic standards. It contributes to improving the global ranking of the University of Baghdad and supports its ongoing progress and leadership in higher education and research.
It is noteworthy that this marks the first time in Iraq’s history that a discipline in the humanities has entered such a prestigious ranking, making it a historic achievement for the academic community in the country.
