UNAMI Delegation Makes Diplomatic Visit to Pave the Way for Academic Partnership with the College of Languages
The Dean of the College of Languages at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Ali Adnan Mushawish, received Mr. Hussein Mubarak Al-Saadoun, Assistant Protocol Advisor in the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq (UNAMI), on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Mr. Al-Saadoun conveyed the greetings of Dr. Mohammad Al-Hassan, Head of the UNAMI Mission and Special Representative of the Secretary-General to Iraq, expressing his interest in strengthening cooperation and supporting the college through joint programs and initiatives. The meeting included discussions on preparations to host the Head of Mission at the college and the organization of a dialogue session. The Dean also emphasized the importance of fostering cooperation between the two parties and providing specialized academic support to students through training courses held in countries where the studied languages are spoken, expressing his aspiration for the mission to be an active partner in achieving this goal.
Both parties also affirmed the importance of utilizing this collaboration to develop academic and cultural fields and to support the progress of higher education and scientific research. Additionally, they discussed creating opportunities to offer scholarships for students to study abroad, under the direct sponsorship of the United Nations Mission.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hadeel Ismail, Head of the Department of Russian Language, and Assistant Professor Ammar Abdul Razzaq, Administrative Assistant.
