College of Languages Participates in the Launch Celebration of the Third National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security
The College of Languages at the University of Baghdad, represented by the Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit, Assistant Lecturer Nasreen Shakir Hassoun, participated in the celebration of the announcement of the Third National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security for higher education. The event was organized by the Women’s Affairs Department in the Office of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, under the direct patronage of the Minister, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. The celebration was held under the slogan “Through Their Giving, We Rise,” and witnessed a distinguished attendance of female heads of women’s affairs units from Iraqi universities, as well as a group of outstanding female faculty members and staff in higher education institutions.
In his speech during the celebration, the Minister emphasized the importance of supporting and empowering women and enhancing their roles within higher education institutions. He emphasized the need to activate policies and procedures that support their effective participation in line with their scientific and creative capacities. He also called for reinforcing national confidence in the role of women as effective partners in shaping future generations and building a bright future for Iraq. The celebration also included the honoring of a number of distinguished female academics and staff members, in recognition and appreciation of their dedicated efforts across various sectors of higher education.
The College of Languages values this significant initiative, which contributes to the advancement of academic women and reinforces their role as a fundamental pillar in the journey of progress and contribution.
