Celebrating the 61st anniversary of the founding of College of Languages
In the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Baha Ibrahim Insaf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Languages, Professor Dr. Ali Adnan Mashwash, the College of Languages held a festival for the anniversary of its founding on Monday, October 21, 2024.
The ceremony included listening to the national anthem, followed by reading verses from the Holy Quran, after which the attendees recited Surat Al-Fatihah for the martyrs of Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon. During the ceremony, welcoming speeches were given by college students from the college ten departments. The Minister presented certificates of honor to the top students and there was a new mural called Al-Aqsa Mosque mural. He visited the rehabilated buildings of the English and French departments, a meeting hall and a stadium. The festival included an exhibition of scientific products and handicrafts of students, in addition to a documentary film about the history of the college and the stages of its development, and a play entitled (We are all Gaza and Lebanon).
