On the sidelines of the First International Scientific Language Conference, Russian Dr Olga Leonidovna Ereskina Held a Scientific Lecture

 

As part of its continuous policy of maintaining international communication, openness to global methodologies, and modern teaching methods, which the University of Baghdad and the College of Languages strive to follow, Professor Dr. Olga Leonidovna Ereskina from Mordovia State University, Russian Federation, delivered a scientific lecture on the second day of the conference about teaching the Russian language to foreign students and the most important modern methods used in this field.
 Dr. Olga Ereskina began her talk by describing her experience teaching foreign students at the language stage in European universities and the most significant challenges she faced. She also referred to her experience with Iraqi and Arab students at the language stage at Mordovia State University. She highlighted the factors affecting students’ comprehension, the most important of which is the academic environment provided by the university.
In her talk about Russian language morphology, Dr. Olga referred to the history of the formation of Russian vocabulary and the most important developments that occurred in the 17th and 18th centuries. She also addressed the origin of word roots and the changes in meaning that occur when prefixes and suffixes are added.
Dr. Olga invited the professors of the Russian Language Department to participate in skill development courses to teach the Russian language. After reviewing the curricula taught in the Russian Language Department, she expressed her desire to assist in updating these curricula in collaboration with the Ministries of Higher Education in both countries.
In conclusion, the Dean of the College of Languages thanked Professor Olga and invited her to participate in the second international conference to be prepared for next year. He also thanked the Russian Language Department for their support and organization of her visit and wished the department continued success and distinction.
The College of Languages emphasizes the importance of supporting cultural activities, learning languages, and contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals. The presence of Dr. Olga Leonidovna Eryesina, Professor at Mordovia State University, and faculty members highlights the College’s commitment to cooperation and partnerships across various sectors of society.
