A group of professors from the Spanish Language Department organized a field trip on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, for a group of department students to visit the National Library and Archives in Baghdad. The visit was supervised by Ms. Ashraq Abdul-Adil, the Director General of the National Library and Archives. During the visit, the professors and students took a tour of the library’s premises. Ms. Ban Salahuddin, the Director of the National Library, explained the nature of the library’s work and the essential services it provides to researchers and enthusiasts. Additionally, they were introduced to the electronic usage of book catalogs and university theses, and they were briefed on the electronic digitization methods of the library’s assets in the Information Technology Department. This visit aimed to acquaint the students with the role of the National Library and Archives in preserving the history and civilization of Iraq. It underscored their commitment to providing library and archival services and facilitating the tasks of researchers and all interested individuals.
