The Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division, in cooperation with the Media and Government Communication Division and the Human Rights Unit at the Faculty of Languages, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Concepts of Sustainable Development and Ways to Achieve Them”, in which Ms. Dr. Erwa Fakhri Abdul Latif (Director of the Human Rights Unit) and Ms. Suhad Adnan Globe (Media and Government Communication Division) participated, and the sustainable development goals announced by the United Nations in 2025 to achieve them for 2030, which called on all countries to adopt them to face the economic, social and political challenges of countries, especially facing poverty, hunger and corruption, were reviewed.
The workshop also touched on Iraq’s endeavor to implement these goals and the extent of the impact of the occupation of the terrorist organization ISIS and the Corona pandemic on the implementation of these goals.
As for our college as an educational institution concerned with achieving the fourth goal (quality education), the Italian language department was chosen as an example of applying sustainable development through the Italian scholarship for students, which achieves a number of sustainable development goals, namely the fourth, eighth, tenth and seventeenth goals.
