As part of the initiative of the Prime Minister’s Office to designate March 12th as a National Tree Planting Day, and in compliance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Presidency of the University of Baghdad, under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Languages, the activities of National Tree Planting Day commenced on the morning of Monday, March 11th, 2024.

The Government Media and Communication Department, in collaboration with the Scientific Affairs Unit, organized a workshop on the significance of tree planting and its effects on a clean environment. The workshop was attended by the Deputy Scientific Assistant and the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. They highlighted the importance and objectives of tree planting, as well as the health, social, psychological, and economic benefits of National Tree Planting Day, which aims to improve the environment and mitigate climate change.

Attendees at the workshop emphasized the importance of such workshops in raising awareness about this day, which works towards increasing green spaces and their crucial role in providing a healthy and clean environment.
