Teaching staff from the Department of Syriac Language in the College of Languages participated in the second Arbelo International Conference on the Syriac language and Alsworth, which was held in the College of Education – Salah Alddin University in Erbil, with the participation of the Free University of Berlin from Germany and the University of Cambridge from Britain.
Where the researchers of the College of Languages, who are Prof.Dr. Adnan Shabib Jassim and Prof. Mohamed Radhi Zweer and Assist Prof. Ammar Abd al-Razzaq Khalifa presented valuable scientific research that talked about the Syriac and Hebrew vocabulary in the dialect of southern Iraq in Thi Qar Governorate specifically, and the problematic of the linguistic term in the research and theses of the academic Syriac language, as well as the post-linguistic influences in the Syriac lexicon.
️Syriac is a language that is considered a language with a special writing system and a special alphabetical system  for spelling and writing, which is a way to distinguish the differences that characterize it.
It is noteworthy that the goals of the University are to give great importance to the Syriac language so that students can become qualified teachers for schools that teach in the Syriac language, as the number of specialized and academic teachers is small and the Syriac language is of particular importance to writers and teachers.
