The starting of Russian Language Week at the college of Languages with an international participation
The Russian Language Week at the College of Languages was inaugurated on Sunday, December 8, 2024, under the slogan “Pushkin and Lermontov, Architects of the Russian Language”. It will continue until December 11, 2024. The event was sponsored by the Dean of the College of Languages, Professor Dr. Ali Adnan Mishoosh.
The event saw participation from a delegation from the Chechen State Pedagogical University, led by Ms. Tamara Andiyevna, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs. The delegation included the Head of the Russian Language Department at the mentioned university and several university instructors, along with five students specializing in both Arabic and Russian.
The ceremony was attended by the assistant deans and the head of the Russian Language Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Hadeel Ismail Khalil, as well as numerous professors and students from the Russian Language Department at the College of Languages, Baghdad University.
The celebration aimed to enhance scientific cooperation and cultural and knowledge exchange between the Russian Language Department and Russian universities. It also focused on developing future programs to improve the level of students and professors in the department.
The program included welcome speeches from both sides and a video presentation about the work of the Foreign Teachers School in the Chechen Republic. Russian poems were recited in celebration of the 225th birth anniversary of the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin and the 210th birth anniversary of the poet Lermontov.
A literary competition and a linguistic test were held on the sidelines of the event, along with an exhibition of works by students of decorative and applied arts.
The students expressed their joy and gratitude to the College’s deanship and the leadership of the Russian Language Department for organizing these scientific and cultural activities at both local and international levels.
The celebration continued on Monday with a joint theatrical performance by students from the College of Languages at Baghdad University and the Chechen State Pedagogical University.
