As per the directives of Baghdad University’s presidency and in the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development, and the College of Languages, with the aim of raising awareness among the youth to make informed decisions regarding migration, coordination was made between the Work and Migration Resource Center team and the College’s Media and Government Communication Division to provide awareness sessions on regular migration and the risks of irregular migration. The session included an introduction to the Work and Migration Resource Center, migration terms, the dangers of irregular migration, and warnings against the risks of becoming victims of human trafficking gangs, in addition to services for reintegrating returnees, whether economic or social support. The seminar, attended by Dr. Ali Adnan Mashoosh, Dean of the College, deputies, department heads, and a large number of students, presented a comprehensive idea about the Work and Migration Resource Center (MRC) in Baghdad within the “Capacity Partnerships and Access to Information for Sustainable Reintegration of Returnees in Iraq (CAIR II)” project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark and implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). There was significant interaction between the lecturers and students, who greatly benefited from the topics of the seminar.
