The master's thesis, "Semantics of the Human Body Organs in the Syriac Language," written by student Nour Al-Huda Khudair Abdel Abbas, a comparative Semitic linguistic research, was discussed by the University of Baghdad's College of Languages. The purpose of the thesis was to conduct a semantic study on the external organs of the human body in Syriac. The study aimed to explore the primary and secondary names of these organs, clarify their meanings, and identify the factors that contributed to their formation. Furthermore, the study intended to analyze the additional connotations associated with these organs and the meanings derived from them, with the help of Syriac dictionaries. She came to the conclusion, among other things, that many fundamental terms in Semitic languages relate to the various parts of the human body, like the hand, head, foot, and ear, or they express the natural world, like the sky, the earth, and the various animal species.
