The Italian Embassy held the Tests of Students Scholarships

Today, at the College of Languages, and for the second year respectively, a session of the Italian Committee for granting Italian scholarships to Iraqi students took place.

The Italian committee headed by the Italian consul, Mr. Alessandro Mennini, decided to interview the Iraqi candidates (students of the Italian language department) applying for short-term scholarships (three months) to study Italian language and culture at the University of Perugia for foreigners in Italy, and other candidates applying to study a master’s degree in the field of Italian language and other specializations who came to the College of Languages in order to have admission and recognition interviews.

The College of Languages has become the test location for the Italian embassy committee for two consecutive years due to the activity of the Italian language department and the College of Languages in international work, which encouraged the Italian side to request hosting interviews in the college instead of bringing the students to the embassy headquarter to conduct the test, as the Italian embassy began to see in this institution the proper scientific standards for  conducting international competition and distinction tests, which since 2003 have been conducted exclusively at the embassy headquarter.

It is noteworthy that the Deanship of the College, in cooperation with the Italian Language Department, has provided all the appropriate conditions for conducting the test in complete privacy and comfort for the work of the committee, which among the conditions of its work is independency and complete privacy at work.

The visit of the embassy to the College  to meet the students of the Italian language department and give them the scholarships directly inside their college and their scientific atmosphere, is a unique event. On the visit, the Italian consul expressed his support to the Italian department,as he said in his speech  (the purpose of this visit is to support the Italian department and to  give impression to everyone that the College of Languages has become a center for granting scholarships to all Iraqi students).
