Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Languages, Dr. Ali Adnan Mshwesh, the Department of English organized a lecture entitled ‘The Function of the Positive Self: University Theatre as a Model’ by the lecturer Dr. Muhammad Omar Ayoub from the Youth Culture and Arts Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The lecture aimed to enhance the positive self-esteem of university students, who constitute a fundamental pillar in the youth sector.
During the lecture, Dr. Muhammad Omar discussed the significant role of theatre in cultivating the minds of young people and university students. He emphasized its impact on enhancing critical thinking skills and promoting independence. The Dean of the College of Languages, Dr. Ali Adnan Mshwesh, attended the lecture and presented Dr. Omar with a shield of excellence and a certificate of participation. Mrs. Rana Yousif, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, several university teachers, and students from the Department of English also attended the session. Instructor Sabah Salim Jabbar moderated the lecture.
